10.13 – Well, the rotten weather is back! As things stand at the moment we can’t even see the end of the field we’re in! Wind, rain and now fog are transpiring against us. Helen and I keep thinking back to our three-week caravan holiday in Ireland last year when we had glorious sunshine all day every single day. We’re certainly paying for it this year!
5.50pm – So we stayed in the caravan through the worst of the weather this morning. At around 1pm we drove into Penzance to fill the car with diesel and then went to a Farm Shop near our campsite to buy a few bits for later in the week. Whilst we were there we bought two hot Cornish Pasties – which were just divine! I’ve decided to introduce a PPI (Pasty Perfection Index) rating system. On my newly introduced PPI scale this one has come out at 9.9. (I won’t bore you with all the details of my very complex scoring system!). I’ve had a couple of 7s and an 8 so far in the Tintagel area, but this one from Buryan Farm Shop near Land’s End is the clear winner so far!
After lunch we went out again and visited the famous Minack Theatre (which we’ll be visiting on Monday to see a performance of Romeo and Juliet), Porthcurno Beach and then Sennen Cove. We’re currently sitting in the Old Success Inn in Sennen Cove.
7.31pm – Back at the caravan and I’m just about to cook some food for dinner.
