10.24am – Something is different. Yes, there really is. For the first time in ten days we haven’t woken up to fog/mist/clouds that have lost the will to fly – call it what you will, but I can see caravans that are three rows further up the hill than we are. Not only that, there are actual blue bits in the sky. Certainly there’s more white than blue at the moment, but it finally really is possible that we’re on for nice weather today. All is still damp after a torrential rain shower overnight, but if the sun can get through everything might just dry up. Fingers crossed!
Helen has gone for a swim at the on-site heated, open-air swimming pool whilst I’m having a relaxed breakfast and a cup of coffee. I’m sure Helen will want a poke around the shops in Looe today – she has still to visit the town properly – but with luck, we’ll be sitting outside later-on this evening. Wow, imagine that!
1pm – So the blue sky has disappeared to be replaced by a blanket grey cloud layer. However, although there is mist one hill away from here, it is still fairly clear here with no rain forecast. Helen is in the middle of doing a big laundry cycle and our intention is to peg everything up outside and leave it whilst we drive to Fowey for a visit. We’re doing Looe tomorrow when the annual river raft race is on and the weather looks to be blanket sunshine.
I know I’m blogging an awful lot about the weather, but I am British and it is our national obsession!
