#026 – 22nd June

12.02pm – I was up early this morning to pack-up everything in our awning and dismantle the awning itself before the day gets too hot to do anything very much.

I’m currently relaxing in a chair in the shade of the caravan feeling relieved that everything is done now.

We’re not sure what our plans are for the rest of the day, but we may go back to Polperro to see it in the sunshine.

Our van looks very bare without the awning.

1.22pm – After all those days and days of coping with rotten weather, we’re now working-out how best to deal with the heatwave we’re currently experiencing! Our plan was to leave here early tomorrow and head-up to Tewkesbury for three nights on our way home. However, the forecast for Tewkesbury for tomorrow and Wednesday is threatening to get up to 40 degrees Celsius. Currently, we’re thinking we should extend our stay here for a further night where it’s due to be a bit cooler and drive up North on Wednesday instead. Helen has just headed-up to reception to try to sort it out. Ideally, we’d stay on our current pitch which is fully-serviced. However, if we have to vacate this pitch because it’s already booked it won’t be too much hassle to move to a non-serviced one for one night. We’ll probably get a better night’s sleep if it’s cooler here by the coast.
